Join the Ripon Medical Center Volunteer Program!

Thousands of hours of volunteer service are given to Ripon Medical Center annually by men, women, and students who dedicate their time to our patients, patients’ family members, and RMC staff. RMC Volunteers perform a variety of services that are both challenging and fun. People volunteer for a wide range of reasons:

If you are a student:

  • Add variety to your personal life
  • Help other people
  • Gain work experience
  • Earn community hours toward high school diploma, honors diploma, confirmation
  • Set a good example for peers
  • Fulfill community obligations

If you are retired:

Volunteer Opportunities

Greeter
Welcome and greet all visitors and patients as they enter the Medical Center. You will provide directions and assist in getting to areas, if needed.

Gift Shop
The Center Shoppe offers a variety of gift items. Some items are handmade by volunteers. Many are consigned by individuals within the community. Shifts are 3-4 hours.

Sewing
Join our RMC Associates sewing group once a month. Participate in making stuffed animals for children, along with therapy pillows, walker bags, and any other patient needs.

Central Admitting
Assist staff in answering the phone, taking messages, and greeting patients as they need to be registered. Filing, mail, and photocopying duties as needed.

Tour Guide
Schools and organizations within the surrounding areas request tours of RMC during normal work hours. Good communication skills are a must. Introduce the wonderful staff at RMC and show what we have to offer!

Floor Servicers
Deliver juice, water, mail, and flowers to patients. If you enjoy patient contact, this is the position to consider.

Lifeline Installer
Lifeline is a lifesaving piece of equipment for patients at home who may need to call for medical assistance.

Mail Sorting
Sort the mail received by the Medical Center. The task begins at 8:30 a.m., and is completed within one hour.

Van Courier
Provide courier service for needed supplies, equipment, and/or specimens. Pick up and return of patients for their appointments.

Medical Specialties Clinic
Be on call to assist on a busy day by greeting patients and directing them to the proper location.

Other Opportunities
Rehabilitation Services Aide, Meals on Wheels, Clerical Assistance, Patient Sitter, Chart Preparation, Room Stocker, Lab Courier, Runner, and more.
