Orthopedic Surgeon Signed at RMC
Ripon, WI— Ripon Medical Center (RMC) takes another step toward building an advanced orthopedic surgical program. RMC hired Steven D. Pals, MD to work full time for RMC. Dr. Pals is RMC’s first full time orthopedic surgeon.
“Dr. Pals practiced in Ripon on a weekly basis for almost two years and has a terrific reputation as a surgeon and clinician,” said Jim Tavary, RMC’s CEO.
Along with Dr. Pals, RMC has hired his office manager, Karen Wendt, to assume the duties of the clinic manager for the orthopedics and podiatrics programs at RMC.
Dr. Pals will begin his practice with RMC in early October.
Dr. Pals completed his undergraduate education at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois; his medical school education at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and his surgical and orthopedic surgery residencies at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.
Dr. Pals is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
“We are eager for Dr. Pals to begin his surgical career at RMC,” said Tavary. “He will be joining Dr. David Eggert from the Orthopedic and Sports Institute of Appleton who will continue to perform surgeries at RMC on Mondays. In 2010, Dr. Jason DeVries will begin his podiatric surgery practice at RMC. We are well on our way to an exceptional orthopedic surgical program, unlike any in the region.”
Dr. Pals served in the US Army Medical Corps from June 1985 through September 1994, and in October of 1994, he moved to Beaver Dam and established the Beaver Dam Orthopaedic Clinic. Dr. Pals and his family are currently residents of Beaver Dam.
